		<description>I quite agree with you this is the main decision behind my support of PreMake the bsd styled build tool alternative to GNU&#039;s build tools. I know there&#039;s also other good alternatives but those usually revolve around the specific language(ie SCons, Rake, ...)

There&#039;s a google code project that you may want to check out, its one of mine and does very well with capistrano as well just on its own no matter what the project&#039;s source code base is. You can find it at, http://code.google.com/p/basecode/.
